Overview
The Boards of the Stanly County Health Department and Department of Social Services were consolidated into the Stanly County Consolidated Human Services Board during the November 6, 2017 Stanly County Board of County Commissioners meeting. The first meeting of the Stanly County Consolidated Human Services Board was held Thursday, November 16, 2017.

Meetings will be held the first Thursday of the month beginning at 6:00pm in the Auditorium at the Stanly County Commons. The public is invited. No meeting is scheduled for July.

There are 21 members of the Consolidated Human Services Board. Initially members were appointed to staggered terms. Members are appointed to serve four year terms. They are limited to two consecutive four year terms.
The Board shall be composed of one licensed physician, one licensed psychologist, one licensed psychiatrist, one licensed social worker, one licensed dentist, one licensed optometrist, one licensed veterinarian, one registered nurse, one licensed pharmacist, one County Commissioner, one professional engineer and four consumer/advocates of human services and four representatives of the general public.
Members are appointed by the County Commissioners. The local Human Services Director serves as Secretary to the Board.
