Women, Infants & Children (WIC)


What is the WIC Program?

The Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program is a federally funded program designed to provide food and nutrition education to low income pregnant, postpartum  or breastfeeding women; infants and children to age five (5).  Breastfeeding support is available from a Lactation Educator.


How do I apply for WIC services?

Call 704-986-3003 or 704-986-3004 to make an appointment


Are breastfeeding mothers eligible to receive WIC services?

Yes, until the mother’s infant is one (1) year old


What do I need to bring to my WIC visit?

Bring identification [driver’s license, social security card, insurance card or policy, tax forms from most recent calendar year, recent bill or account statement], proof of income  or Medicaid card, a bill or rental agreement with a physical address (not P.O. box).  The person applying for WIC must also be present for the first visit at the WIC office.
