Purpose
The Environmental Health Program provides services that include testing water samples, soil testing for septic tank systems, inspecting food service establishments, inspecting tattoo establishments, inspecting and approving septic tank systems, public pool inspections and institution (nursing homes) inspections.
Availability
Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. To schedule an inspection, call 704-986-3675.

Any resident or property owner in Stanly County.
Well Owners – Additional Information
Household well owners with questions about their water well system, water quality or well construction can contact an information hotline operated by the National Ground Water Association at 1-855-420-9355 (855-H2O-WELL).
The purpose of the Private Well Owner Hotline is to answer basic water well-related questions. When it comes to specific issues regarding a person’s well system or water quality, the hotline can guide well owners to the assistance they need. The Private Well Owner Hotline operated Monday-Friday from 10:00am-1:00pm Eastern Standard Time, except national holidays.
